KLC Student Wins BIDA’s Student Competition
2003
Emily
Keith, a current student on KLC's One Year
Interior Design Diploma Course, has just been
announced as the winner of the British Interior
Design Association's (BIDA) Student Competition
2003, sponsored by Limestone Gallery Ltd.
Students entering the competition came
from all over the UK and included those graduating
from full degree courses. Emily won £1,000
cash and £1,000 worth of Limestone Gallery
products. Furthermore her winning design entry
will be turned into reality at Decorex 2003.
Formerly
employed in the banking sector, Emily had
no prior knowledge of design until she joined
KLC. Looking for a career change, she enrolled
onto the school’s intensive Interior
Design and Decoration Diploma Course last
October and hasn’t looked back. Considering
that she has only been studying full time
for a little over eight months, her achievement
is remarkable. Said Emily, “I am
absolutely delighted at winning this award
and I am very excited about being involved
with designing a stand at such a prestigious
show as Decorex”.
Eight of the fourteen finalists were
full-time students at KLC School of Design
and 3rd place was won by another KLC Diploma
Student, Katherine Miller.
Based by the spectacular Design Centre in
Chelsea Harbour, KLC offers full-time, part-time
and open learning courses in interior design
and garden design. Established, accredited
and highly regarded, KLC’s intensive
vocational training courses enable students
to achieve a recognised qualification for
a career change.
