Taking place in July each year, the exhibition is an opportunity for students to show-off their hard work and cutting-edge designs. Alumni, press and industry are invited to view the exhibition, which takes months to put together. With a wealth of work on display, the studios will convey the reality of the interior design process as taught at KLC. KLC's Senior Lecturer, Steven Separovich, describes the aim of this year’s exhibition being to “provoke a wealth of experiences - intellectual, emotional and physical… it will provide a fresh variation on the 2010 exhibition, and the idea of the visitor’s ‘journey’ will be paramount.” It guarantees to be a feast for the eyes! According to Steven “studios will be planned with a central run of tables acting as a ‘catwalk’ for models (and sample-boards) flanked by banners either side. Visual interest will be added via graphics suspended over the ‘catwalk’ along with super-graphics along the main gallery.” See the accompanying images to get a feel for the experience.
The culmination of the exhibition is the Graduation Ceremony where the newest interior designers are welcomed into the industry. Awards are sponsored by a number of prestigious companies and renowned interior designers and together with students and staff they celebrate another year of excellence in interior design education.
Exhibition takes place at KLC’s Studios in Chelsea Harbour on 11-13 July 2011
