KLC is very proud to be affiliated with three leading international schools and to promote international collaboration on design education.
There is a programme of Master Classes to enhance the CV's of affiliate graduates or to provide contextual support for current students. In addition there is the opportunity to share information on new programmes, progression routes and teaching methods. The links also allow for regular art and design related cultural exchanges as well as updates on design events and exhibitions, current trends and methods of practice.
There is also a shared belief in the need for designers to specify responsibly and to promote the role of design in the community.
We are currently celebrating the 10 year anniversary of KLC's affiliation with Machida Academy.
Machida Academy has certified centres throughout Japan where local crafts and techniques are encouraged and supported. Their buzzing Tokyo studios are beautifully designed to maximise every inch of space and feature highly effective, environmentally friendly materials and finishes, some of which are designed by the inspirational Principal, designer and architect, Hiroko Machida. Hiroko is a great advocate of the need for designers to specify responsibly and is a hugely respected figure in the design world in Japan and beyond.
Machida has an exceptional network of contacts and an outstanding placement record for its students.
We are very proud of our affiliation with the inspirational Details School in Moscow.
Founded and run by designer, author and tireless advocate of good design, Tanya Rogova, the studios are full of charm and character.
The range of courses includes Interior Design where great emphasis is placed on how designers can enhance working, living environments, while Landscape Design promotes the perception of the house and garden in overall harmony from the planning concept, through to the materials, textures and colours.
Courses at Details are regularly oversubscribed and graduates go on to have highly successful careers. The work of Details trained designers are regularly featured in the Andrew Martin International Design Award book of shortlisted projects.
KLC is proud to be affiliated with Cread School since 2009.
Cread was founded in 1972 and is based in the historic City of Lyons in France. The school is well known for its vocational approach and places great emphasis on practical and presentation skills and the importance of environmental considerations is at the heart of the curriculum. Graduates of the school are regularly placed with leading design and architectural practices throughout France.
