Accreditations and Validations

Partnership with the University of Brighton

KLC has a formal partnership agreement with the University of Brighton, which has long been established as a centre of excellence for art and design - the School of Arts was established in 1859.

KLC's Foundation Degree, Diploma and BA (Hons) Interior Design are all validated by the University of Brighton. These awards are clearly benchmarked against the QAA Framework for Higher Education Qualifications and the international recognition increases employment opportunities for KLC graduates worldwide.

The validation process requires rigorous quality assurance assessment of all aspects of the school and has also resulted in new teaching methods and innovative updates that have greatly benefited the courses and enhanced the creativity and depth of student work.

KLC is proud to be associated with the University of Brighton.

QAA Educational Oversight

KLC is subject to regular review and annual monitoring by the UK Quality Assurance Agency, which demonstrates that we meet expectations in setting and maintaining academic quality and standards, enhance the quality of student learning opportunities and information about learning opportunities. The latest QAA Review Report is available at: http://www.qaa.ac.uk/reviews-and-reports/provider?UKPRN=10008325 and you can see KLC's Action Plan here.

Teaching Excellence Framework

KLC holds a provisional award with the Teaching Excellence and Student Outcomes Framework (TEF). A provisional award means that the higher education provider meets rigorous national quality requirements for UK higher education, and is taking part in the TEF, but does not yet have sufficient data to be fully assessed. The provider may be fully assessed in future when it has sufficient data.

UKVI Tier 4 Licence

KLC School of Design has been licensed by UK Visas and Immigration with a Tier 4 Sponsor status to enrol international students under Tier 4 of the Points Based System.

Interior Educators

KLC is also a member of Interior Educators, an organisation established by academics representing well-established interior design and architecture courses from across the UK. It is a unique group in that it provides a forum for debate and the exchange of ideas and practice affecting the education of designers in this field.

Update - May 2018

Office for Students is an independent public body who regulate English higher education providers on behalf of all students and whom report to the UK Parliament through the Department for Education (DfE). KLC is applying to the OfS to be registered as a higher education provider in England. This is under assessment.
