Kickstart your Interior Design Studies
To help students get started on their Open Learning Diploma Interior Design projects
This is an action packed day specifically designed to help Open Learning Diploma Interior Design students to get started on their studies. The course aims to build students' confidence and also to clarify the standard of work required to gain the qualification. Additionally, examples of student work will be displayed on the day to illustrate this.
A demonstration of how to use the online Curriculum plus workshops on concepts, keeping Personal Reflective Journal, and an introduction to using your technical drawing equipment ensure this is a practical hands-on day, which will inspire you to get started with your project work.
The day will be run by Open Learning tutors, so you will have an opportunity to meet them and ask questions about your course. You will also have the chance to get acquainted with other Open Learning students who are starting the course too.
The syllabus includes:
- Overview of the Design Process
- Personal Style and creating concepts including practical workshop
- Keeping a Personal Reflective Journal (PRJ)
- Scale and the basics of technical drawing including practical workshop
- Overview of colour theory
- Question and Answer session
Refreshments and a delicious light lunch will be provided on the first day of the course.
