Jess completed the Certificate in Interior design course in 2010. She now has her own practice which is going from strength to strength.
What were you doing before KLC and why did you decide to attend KLC?
I had been running my own jewellery business for six years but deep down my real passion has always been interiors and I knew that I wanted to pursue this in a professional capacity. As soon as I looked around KLC, I knew it was the right place for me to train and begin my interior design career.
Can you identify some of the highlights of your time at KLC?
I loved presenting my projects and having the chance to present to a panel of professionals was incredible preparation for the design industry. I enjoyed the guest speakers and having the chance to meet some of the industry's key players and asking them all my burning questions. I also made some wonderful friends for life.
How has your career evolved since KLC?
On graduating, I went straight to work at Helen Green Design where I was lucky enough to work on some of the most exciting prime luxury developments in London. Since then, I set up my own business which is now two years old and I have a design studio in Chelsea with a small team. We work on a mixture of high end developments and private homes all in central London and I absolutely love what I do.
What are some of your recent projects?
We have recently completed a luxury 2-bedroom show apartment in the heart of Mayfair on Hanover Street. This is a prime investment area and we have since won the contract for two more flats in the building. Other recent projects include a private Notting Hill townhouse for a family with three children who wanted to create a country house look in the heart of the city.
