18 October 2018, KLC School of Design and ADMD Design Culture successfully hosted the first Design X Forum:  ‘INSIGHT - Inspiration and Creation’. This Chinese-European exchange was a fascinating opportunity to see how designers from East and West build on their rich heritage in contemporary spaces and provided an exciting framework for the sharing of ideas.

The event welcomed experienced and talented British designers and Chinese designers to share their personal stories of inspiration, project work and major influences that have helped them succeed in their industry. Our industry audience of practising designers, KLC graduates and current students remained captivated by design and ideas created from all over the world by our wonderful guest designers listed below.

KLC Principal, Jenny Gibbs, shared her thoughts following Design X, “It was clear from Design X Forum that design really does cross boundaries and there was a wonderful spirit of co-operation in the room. There were so many shared design values and we saw Chinese and European designers creating inspirational contemporary interiors re-inventing the traditions, and traditional arts and crafts of those countries.  It was an afternoon not to be missed.”

The events presentations were followed with an interactive networking session allowing the audience to chat to the designers and ask any questions they had over drinks and canapes.
