Lombok Competition Winner Announced
In January this year we shared an exciting industry student competition with Lombok Furniture. In an exciting judging process and a tight public vote, the winner has been announced.
Congratulations second year Foundation Degree student, Jemma Busby, who has won the competition with her design; The Bloom Collection.
The team at Lombok felt that her design answered the brief perfectly - her sofa and side table emulated the Lombok ‘look’ whilst also being an innovative and exciting design. Jemma will accompany Julien Sannier, Commercial Director at Lombok, to their factory in Portugal to witness her winning design come to life.
“The inspiration for my design stems from an innate desire to explore and experience the natural world. Encapsulating the fundamentals of the Lombok range, my design translates organic forms into something tangible that can be enjoyed in the home each day. Following my studies at KLC, I hope to build upon my keen interest of conceptual design narratives, specialising in both product and commercial interior design. “

Jemma’s Course Leader, Rachael White, shared her thoughts on the winner and competition thus far, “This has been such an amazing opportunity for the students, as they have developed in their understanding of furniture design, brand appreciation and marketing, all of which are skills that will take them forward in their future careers. This goes even further for Jemma Busby, the winner, who will see the design made at the Lombok factory in Portugal, and will now graduate from KLC with an item of furniture for sale on the high street. As a tutor, I couldn’t wish for more for my students!”
Thank you to Lombok furniture for providing incredible industry experience to our students. We look forward to updating you all as the production of The Bloom Collection takes place.
