KLC Garden Diploma part of judging panel awarding B&Q Gardener of the year 2022

We are very proud to announce that KLC Garden Design Diploma course leader, Humaira Ikram, and Award-winning garden designer and KLC Garden Alumnus, Matt Childs Matt Childs (who recently won big at the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show) joined Dame Prue Leith and B&Q’s outdoor category director Steve Guy to judge B&Q’s Gardener of the year competition 2022.

The winner of the 2022 B&Q Gardener of the year competition has been revealed as Jez Young. His expansive acre garden that's filled with a multitude of plants and foliage, as well as recycled elements impressed the judging panel. Congratulations to all entrants.

KLC is delighted to have course leader, Humaira Ikram, involved in such exciting and rewarding competitions within the industry. Humaira brings her experience, passion for gardens and industry connections to the course she leads, Part Time Diploma Garden Design at KLC.

The KLC Garden Design Diploma is a uniquely tailored course designed to prepare .career-changers for a new career in the garden design industry. The course follows the growing year which means initial study and final project work all take place in the colder winter months and practical horticulture and live projects during the spring and summer. The resulting one-year course combines practical hard landscaping and gardening skills, plant science and creative design principles in a 2 day a week part time format with additional study required outside of class each week.
