KLC connect is an initiative which aims at introducing and connecting students to the interior design community.
Launched in 2017, KLC Connect is designed to facilitate the transition from studying to employment. During these events, students have the chance to meet and talk with interior designers, industry experts and suppliers.
Bringing the industry to the students
As per many other industries, networking is crucial to interior design. KLC Connect offers students the opportunity to experience this process here at the school, in a familiar environment.
While adding value to their studies, the KLC Connect events give students the chance to ask questions and to get tips from those who work in the interior design industry.
Events vary from meeting with suppliers to one-to-ones with top interior designers. Also, industry experts come to our school to deliver talks exclusively for KLC students.
Students enjoy attending KLC Connect events and find them extraordinarily valuable to their studies.
Following one of the events, a student shared her thoughts: "The KLC Connect evening was a great opportunity to meet some really inspirational and exciting industry professionals and it also gave me some direction in terms of the areas in which I am interested in working and who I think is a good fit and vice versa."
Guest Interior Designers and Suppliers also enjoy meeting the students and offering their guidance. Some of the guests shared their thoughts with us: "It was so much fun and very satisfying sharing with the latest lovely students!”. Someone else said: "It was a real pleasure to meet the students yesterday. It was such a well organised and useful event!"
These events are organised and overseen by a prestigious panel put together by KLC Founder and Principal Jenny Gibbs. The panel includes key members of KLC staff and alumni who are working as interior designers.
The KLC Connect initiative brings the interior design industry directly to the students. You can learn more about past and future KLC connect events on KLC News.
