Congratulations to Nicola Burt for being awarded the 2019 BIID CPD Award!
We are absolutely delighted to announce that Nicola Burt has been awarded the BIID Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Award.
Continuing Professional Development is the way by which professionals maintain and update their knowledge and skills after qualification. All BIID Registered Interior Designers are required to undertake and record an annual CPD minimum of 20 hours to remain a Member. Commitment to CPD helps to ensure that BIID Members are keeping up to date with the latest developments in a rapidly changing industry. It provides an opportunity to update personal and professional skills, a platform to engage with experts in the industry, and a forum for the exchange of ideas and best practice. Each year at the AGM the member with the most CPD points is awarded a prize by the current President.
This year in 2019, we are very proud to announce that Interior Designer and KLC tutor Nicola Burt was the recipient of the CPD Prize. The award was presnted by Gilly Craft.
Nicola shared her thoughts on winning the award, “I was surprised and delighted to be told I was this year’s winner of the CPD prize. Being a BIID Member is very important to me, as is ensuring I am up-to-date with the latest developments in our industry. I feel it is very important to do this, both as a working interior designer, and as a tutor.”
Jenny Gibbs, KLC School of Design Principal, shared her thoughts about Nicola's achievement, "Like all professions these days it is vital for designers to keep up to date with changing trends, new technology and products as well as regulatory information and professional practice methods. At KLC tutors are encouraged to do this and I am particularly proud and delighted therefore that Nicola Burt has won the BIID Award for the highest number of CPD points this year. I have no idea how she managed to fit this in to her busy family and professional life but am full of admiration for her achievement”
