Their final submission was judged by a Selection Committee comprising of Jenny Gibbs - KLC Principal, Will Gibbs - KLC Managing Director, Diana McKnight - KLC Director of Studies and Jules Begbie - KLC Development Director.
The winner of the Open Learning Student of the Year for Diploma Garden Design is Camilla Mellander.
Camilla has successfully completed version 3 of the course and gained an OL Diploma at Honours (A) grade 94%. Her final project mark for Section 6 was 92% (A).
Camilla lives in Sweden and has a background in marketing, sales and business economics.n The course was recommended to her by a friend studying Interior Design and our links with well-known professionals in the industry appealed to her. She has felt assured and inspired on the course by the lovely staff at KLC. Camilla currently works with maintenance of large courtyard gardens giving advice on how to improve plantings and layouts. She has recently started up a private garden design project too.
We would like to congratulate our runner up, Clare Braham.
Clare completed Version 2 of the course and gained her OL Diploma at Distinction (A+) grade 96%. Clare's final project mark for Module 5 was 94% (A).
After working for many years as a finance and administration manager for local government, Clare decided to build on her knowledge and passion for Garden Design by embarking on a one year placement as a trainee with the Women’s Farm and Gardens Association. This led to her decision to enrol on the Open Learning course.
Congratulations to both students!
