Q. What was your background before KLC?
A: Before studying at KLC I was a stay at home mum, but I wanted to be able to go to work and do something I was passionate about once my children where at school, and the online course made me able to study for my future and still spend that amazing time with my kids.

Q. Why did you decided to study interior design?
A: I decided to study interior design as it was something, I was passionate about. I love being creative and felt this was a way for me to improve my skills and challenge myself as well as still being about to be creative and do something that I loved doing.

Q. Tell us about your experience of the course?
A: My experience of the course was amazing. I loved every minute and being part of KLC family, the tutors where very helpful and always on hand to help you out. I was very happy when I found the online course as it enabled me to study what I love but also work it around other areas of my life, giving me the control but freedom needed.

Q. What are your design interest and strengths?
A: My design interests are Art Deco, this style really inspires and interests me. I love the bold design and geometric patterns used. I also like how it can be used within modern designs. My main strength would be Sketch Up. It is a software I picked up really easily and am able to create different shapes within it.

Q. Who is your favourite designer?
A: I don’t really have a favourite designer, but there are certain designers/companies that inspire me more than others, I love Tom Dixon and his extraordinary creations. I also take inspiration from House of Hackney and their use of bold pattern and colour.

Q. Where to from here?
A: Who knows what the future holds, but I would love to be able to still be creative and do what make me happy and that inspires me.

STUDY TIP - My top tips for future students are think outside the box and really let yourself be creative. Don't be afraid to push your boundaries and really explore every angle. Lauren Wond
