Wood Wharf School Group Project
There are six key principles that the Department For Education (DfE) use to assess the suitability of any design and as such form a critical part of the overall design objectives: functionality, health & safety, future proofing, sustainable design, behaviour & pastoral care and wellbeing
The school's overall aspiration is to have a modern, low energy building with cutting edge sustainability credentials that embodies
wellbeing and health throughout its spaces.
The Department for Education's brief was for innovative design solutions to address key challenges that the Wood Wharf site presents, specifically: a reception, an outdoor playground with access and a separate external space for both arrival and play during the school day for Reception age children.
