"The year at KLC was a great experience and full of challenges, though always enjoyable ones! I loved doing technical drawing as well as learning Sketch Up and Vectorworks, and the lectures from a variety of speakers with different specialisms were invaluable."

What were you doing before KLC and why did you decide to study at the school?
My background is in textile design, which I’ve done for several years alongside roles at arts organisations such as Arts Council England and the Royal Academy.

I’ve always been fascinated by the relationship we have with our surroundings and after renovating my own property I started doing projects for family and friends, and this made me want to professionalise my skills by studying at KLC.

Can you identify some of the highlights and challenges of your time at KLC?
The year at KLC was a great experience and full of challenges, though always enjoyable ones! I loved doing technical drawing as well as learning Sketch Up and Vectorworks, and the lectures from a variety of speakers with different specialisms were invaluable. It was great to share it all with such a friendly group.

How has your career evolved since graduating?
In the short time since completing the course at KLC, I’ve set up my own interior design studio, Colour + Shape and am already busy working on an exciting new project.

What kind of projects have you been working on recently?
I’ve recently finished renovating a 1960s bungalow, creating a bold, contemporary space, which was great fun, and have also completed a sitting room involving lots of bespoke features.

I love seeking out and commissioning unique pieces from British designer-makers and the owners were really open to new ideas.  I’m currently working on several rooms in a beautiful house in Hertfordshire.
