Edmunds Platacis - Edmunds Interiors

Name: Edmunds Platacis
Course: Blended Learning Diploma

What were you doing before KLC and why did you decide to study at the school?

I graduated in Economics and worked in Hospitality and Events management for 8 years. My passion for Fashion and Interior Design has always been a huge part of my life. Travelling around the World made me realize how much I admired seeing beautiful and unique interiors in different countries and how much it affects people. Soon after I decided that I wanted to be part of it and moved to London and applied to one of the best design schools to pursue my future career.

Can you identify some of the highlights and challenges of your time at KLC?

It was one of the most interesting and challenging experiences I came across in my life. I had to be very disciplined and focused in order to be on track with deadlines. However, studying in a group of 15 people from different cultural and professional backgrounds and having support from each other including the tutors made it possible to overcome my own constrains and push me forward.

How does the course fit around your lifestyle?

I had to prioritize my tasks so I could spend as much time as possible on my studies.

What are you enjoying most about the course?

A variety of interesting projects and constant support from KLC tutors.

Where do you look for inspiration?

Architecture, nature, arts, music, travelling...

What advice would you give anyone looking for an Interior Design course?

I would advise people to get to know the school they are applying for, meet the tutors and talk to students and alumni graduates.

Do you have a presence on social media? (If so we can share it and follow you etc.)
