Interior Designer

"The one thing that appealed the most to me was how the entire course was designed to help someone like me understand the professional aspects of designing and then apply it to my creative side enabling me to break through into the industry."

What was your background before KLC?
I started working as a professional model at the age of 19 which developed into a fulltime acting career by the time I was 27 but I always knew that it was not a long term career for me and I felt the need to find something away from all the buzz around me.

Why did you decide to study Interior Design?
It was not until I was 30 however, that I had some time in between my contracts in which I decided to venture into space design and realized how much I enjoyed the process. My first project took 2 years to complete followed by another short commercial project which then led to my decision of doing a course in interior design.

What did you think of the course?
The one thing that appealed the most to me was how the entire course was designed to help someone like me understand the professional aspects of designing and then apply it to my creative side enabling me to break through into the industry.

What are your design interests/strengths?
I love the whole process of working in studios and how everyone is different from each other. I think the idea of ‘collaboration of minds’ excites me the most and so I am also looking forward to the group project coming in the next term. Considering I am an international student, it was particularly interesting to be able to learn the ‘History of Design’ in Europe.

What space best represents you?
I believe because of my background in acting I have always observed everything around me very keenly. This comes back to me in various forms and shapes; however I have always been attracted to clean simple and uncomplicated lines, which is why I have decided to call my design endeavor “Straight Line designs”.

What are your plans for the future?
Since I have always believed in the simplicity of an idea and the power of it, My plans for future will be to strive hard to make the process of creating a project simpler and help bring people & businesses one step closer to what they aspire.
