What is your professional background prior to KLC?
I was a Marketing Assistant for a Media Agency in London, after finishing a BSc Marketing and Advertising Management Degree in Canterbury and after a few years, I decide to change paths and study interior design.
When you were looking for courses, what was it about this course that appealed to you?
It’s flexibility, I was able to work alongside the course. Also, that it was validated by a university, that was crucial - I found many interior design courses weren’t.
How does the course fit around your lifestyle?
It works well around my lifestyle,I am currently completing an internship and I’m able to do this along side the course, allowing me to transfer the skills I’m developing. Apart from the set seminar sessions (normally every two weeks), it’s down to me how I organise my week, which I love!
What are you enjoying most about the course?
To be honest, there isn’t many elements that I don’t enjoy, I would say everything! If i had to choose one particular elements, most probably the research development and concept creation, as well as learning to use software such as Photoshop, Autocad and indesign - helps to bring the design to life!
Where do you look for inspiration?
Inspiration can happen anywhere but in particular I find traveling sparks ideas! Day-to-day blogs and websites are great too, for example Dezeen and Design Milk are some of my favourites. Instagram and Pinterest are of course useful too, but mainly I find getting out and visiting different places is the best form of inspiration.
